If you would like a hot lunch at Park Place, Catholic Charities serves a delicious, nutritious meal Monday-Friday for seniors 60 years old and better. The "Congregate Dining Program" lunch is served cafeteria style beginning at 11:00 am. There is a suggested $3.50 donation per meal, however the meal is free to seniors unable to afford the cost of the meal. In order to participate in the program, you will need to obtain a Nutrition Card by filling out a short form at Park Place. You must call 847-662-0085 at least 2 business days in advance to order lunch.
The Nutrition Card also makes you eligibble to participate in Catholic Charities Restaurant Dining Program. The Avelon in Gurnee and N & Ts in Zion charges only $4 per meal, not including tip. Brochures are availabe at Park Place.
The largest Catholic Charities Senior Nutrition Program in Lake County is the Meals-On-Wheels or Home Delivered Meal Program. This program is for homebound seniors aged 60 and better. Call 847-546-5733 and ask for Intake. The Intake Department will take information and give it to a Case Manager, who will call you to get more information. Currently, there is a short waiting list, so it may take awile to start receiving the meals.
