Whether you’re walking or just looking for some entertainment, this year’s Walk for Seniors theme; Rock ‘n Stroll Vol. 2 will satisfy giving an opportunity for the community to come together in a beautiful outdoor setting, while raising funds for senior services. Waukegan Township’s goal has always been to offer programs that benefit the population we serve, those 55 and better.
Over 36,000 times each year, Waukegan Township provides the following services which include: medical transportation, preventive health services, wellness programs, lifelong learning opportunities, recreational programs—including lawn and snow maintenance services—all provided to assist our senior. Area residents leverage our services to “age-in-place”, while remaining in their own homes. As our community’s need for services grow, the revenue generated from the Walk for Seniors is critical to maintaining our services and allowing older adults to live independently.
This is a multi-generational event open to every facet of our community. We anticipate 200 - 300 walking participants to join us in this fun activity and worthwhile cause.
