200 - 400 word essay describing why you would like to attend an HBCU and what you hope to gain from the HBCU educational experience.
All applications must be RECEIVED by June 30, 2020, 4:00 p.m., Facsimile transmissions (faxes) and Emails will not be accepted, late applications will not be considered, eligible students must meet the eligibility criteria (see requirements on first page). All applications are accepted online only.
Must have been a participant on at least one Artis Yancey HBCU Tour sponsored by Waukegan Township and partners during his/her high school attendance.
Must apply and be accepted into an HBCU.
Must submit proof of acceptance into an HBCU (acceptance letter & course enrollment for the semester
Must enter the college or university as an incoming Freshman.
Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (high school).
Please include a current headshot photograph of yourself.
Must submit a 200-400 word essay describing why you would like to attend an HBCU and what you hope to gain from the HBCU educational experience.
All applications must be received by May 3, 2021, 4:00pm.
Submit application either by email or complete application on-line.
Late applications will not be considered.

Include a current headshot photograph of yourself.
Cover letter. The student must submit a cover letter requesting consideration of his/her application.
Scholarship Application. All sections of the attached application must be completed, including signature and date .
Essay. Provide a description of why you would like to attend an HBCU and what you hope to gain from the educational experience.
