Biography

Trustee Percy L. Johnson has been a Waukegan Township Trustee since appointed to office in 2002. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Trustee Division as well as Chaplain of Township Officials of Illinois. Additionally, he serves as Board liaison to the Senior Citizens Services Committee.

Trustee Johnson is a native of Parkside, Arkansas by way of Cheyenne, Wyoming and is a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He attended the University of Wyoming as well as McKinley Theological Seminary.

Family/Mentor

Trustee Johnson is married to the beautiful Catherine Johnson and is the father of five children and grandfather of six and great-grandfather to three. His love for children and instilling a positive environment for their growth and development, motivated him to serve a mentor with the Foss Park District for several years.

Career/Memberships

Trustee Johnson is the Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Waukegan, Illinois, and is a truly devoted servant of God, to his people and the community. He is actively involved with the North Shore Baptist Ministers’ Alliance, the Lakeshore Baptist District Association, CLC Advisory Committee, North Chicago Rotary and serves as Chaplain for the North Chicago Fire Department.
